Qualifying training in EXistential psychodynamic therapy

The second year of ECPT’s qualifying training in Existential Psychodynamic Therapy, delivered in partnership with Glasgow Caledonian University (GCU) as a pathway on their PgDip / MSc Counselling Practice, will begin early Autumn 2027.

This two- to three-year, part-time course offers in-depth clinical training, combining psychodynamic and existential approaches to psychotherapy. Students complete supervised work-based learning (clinical practice) at ECPT’s own therapy service and develop the skills required for accreditation with NCPS, BACP or COSCA.

Why choose this programme?

✔ The only course in the UK that integrates psychodynamic and existential therapy, and the only one in Scotland to offer a major existential component

✔ Eligible students can apply for SAAS funding of £7,000 towards tuition fees

Core entry requirements:

• COSCA Certificate in Counselling Skills or equivalent

• Degree in any subject

• Proof of English language proficiency, unless English is the applicant’s first language or they hold a UK degree

• Home student status
