The Role

We are looking to recruit an experienced Therapy Service Manager to help manage our affordable therapy service. The Therapy Service Manager will lead the coordination of ECPT’s clinical placements, ensuring high standards of clinical, ethical, and administrative practice. The post holder will work closely with and report to the Director, oversee trainee management and supervision, client assessment and allocation, and general service operations.

The role is initially for a 6-month fixed term contract, with the aim of renewing based on performance and funding.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as primary contact for placement trainees.

  • Facilitate monthly group supervision sessions.

  • Conduct trainee review meetings and write annual placement reports.

  • Provide ad hoc clinical support and line management to trainees.

  • Undertake client assessments and allocate clients to trainees.

  • Oversee placement administration — including client correspondence, calendar updates, cancellations, and payment tracking.

  • Review and update placement policies and contracts on an annual cycle in consultation with the Director and HR.

  • Deliver trainee induction sessions and occasional CPD workshops.

  • Manage therapy service finances (invoicing, using Xero and MyPOS).

  • Meet regularly with the Director for supervision and service planning.

About You

We are seeking a qualified psychodynamic psychotherapist with an understanding of existential therapy and experience of supervising trainee therapists. You will have strong organisational and interpersonal skills and a solid understanding of clinical placements and trainee development. You’ll be confident working independently as well as taking direction from line-management, combining clinical oversight with administrative precision, and will be committed to the anti-elitist, feminist, and inclusive principles that underpin ECPT’s approach to therapy and training.

What We Offer

  • Collaborative, values-driven working culture.

  • Fixed-term contract with potential to renew based on performance and funding.

  • Automatic enrolment into NEST pension if you meet the auto-enrolment criteria.

  • 12 days’ annual leave (pro rata of 30 days FTE), equivalent to 6 working weeks.

  • Professional development opportunities.

  • Access to counselling via an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) through Health Assured.

  • Various discounts through the Bright Exchange platform.

More information can be found in the job description and person specification.
